Absolutely brilliant, went for harness fittings with our new dogs, one is very reactive. Staff were supportive and helpful, prepped the room with pet remedy. Talked us through everything. Wonderful place

Check the website to see the animals. Fill in the form on the website if you are interested or want to know about future arrivals (e.g. kittens) if you might be a match they will call you to discuss then arrange an appointment to meet with the animal. Don't just show up, appointments only. Lovely team of people working hard to find the best possible homes for the animals in their care.

The staff here we so helpful when we adopted our lovely Tilly and when my daughter adopted her cat Wanda, we returned 2 years later after finding a stray dog, they couldn't have been more accommodating despite not having room at the shelter and even had a photo of Wanda on one of their phones still!

A very caring environment . Animals are well looked after and checks are thorough, prior to adoption of your chosen pet. We had the opportunity to get to know our potential cats by visiting them on several occasions. We are very happy with our two cats who are a pure delight. I would certainly recommend this rescue centre if you are serious about adopting a pet.

The staff are wonderful, and the dogs are well looked after and loved. The animals live a beautiful area, and Louis the dog I went to see was very well mannered, so they are definitely doing everything right. Adopt a dog from here, you won't be disappointed.

I write as an experienced dog owner having owed a 'difficult to home' dog previously for some 9 years. Went to view a two year old dog at WARS on two occasions. The first occasion got on really well with the dog and felt at this stage, we developed a good rapport having played 'catch' and all had a great time. Second visit we had again great interaction with the dog so decided to adopt the dog. We 'passed' the home assessment. Although only in my 50s I am retired so seemed the ideal owner as at home all week. So the centre placed us as First Reserve then arranged a third viewing for bonding purposes. I was shocked when received a phone call informing that as I am a retiree I was considered to lead a 'sedate lifestyle' or words to this effect and as the dog required plenty of stimulus I was not in a position to provide this or words to this effect. For the purpose of this review I am in excellent health, walk at least 4 miles everyday, run frequently, cycle, swim, rock climb, weight train and so on. Surely this is nothing short of blatant ageism. Not least they were in breach of promise having placed us as First Reserve then announced that someone else will be adopting the dog! We have since adapted a very lively one year old cross from elsewhere who seems more than happy. The Rescue Centre who supplied the puppy later told us that the dog 'could not have gone to a better home'.
